a: cookie disaster

[ Upon leaving the research center after being briefed via PowerPoint presentation, you'll find a robot that looks like a salt and pepper shaker tailing you, and offering you a fortune cookie! What a cute little robot. It's just so bad that it the cookie gives you strange fortunes like "Someone has Googled you recently". Creepy, huh?

But whether or not you read your fortune out loud, the robot seems to be very, very intent on helping. It follow you around and offer strange, and possibly dangerous advice. Your fortune said "You're allergic to the last thing you ate"? Well, the robot will offer to cut open your stomach to remove the food out! It cares. And this robot will chase you down, threaten you, shoot you with its laser eyes, or all of the above! Apart from that, it's definitely very noisy. Sorry, it's not sorry about how loud it is as it announces to you and to every passerby that "You will spend the next five hours sitting on the toilet"!

(Feel free to think of the most mundane or crazy fortunes and helpful "solutions!") ]

b: error in transporation

[ The metro-rail is basically what everyone who doesn't want to walk uses to get around the colony. It's usually a convenient means of transporation, but with the population growing, the rides start to get crowded! Lucky for you, today isn't one of those days. There aren't a lot of people riding the trains today, and there are probably just three or so people in each cart. You can sit down, and you don't have to smell the person who's invading your personal space because of how crowded it is!

Hold on tight, though, as the train comes to an abrupt stop! The conductor gets every passenger's attention through the intercom right away, and explains that there's some trouble in the next stop that services will be interrupted until further notice. Basically? You're stuck on the train until whatever problem there is is solved. Hope you have nothing important going on!

Well, of course you don't! You just arrived, after all. ]

c: obligatory horror option

[ After being briefed, of course you'd want to find a place to settle down in. Thankfully, the CEO and CERES is generous enough to provide you all with housing, and free rent for two months! Just how swell is that? But upon claiming an apartment of your own, you'll slowly notice that things aren't… how they should be. You blink, and you find the figure of someone who you never ever want to see before you. It's a faceless being, but their other physical characteristics sure are there. You blink again, and they're gone.

You don't feel safe. You start getting paranoid. What if something else happens? Maybe you should find another place to sleep in tonight. Knock on your neighbour's door, or wait outside your building to see if anyone will pick you up.

Or you could always be brave and spend the night at your own apartment. You'll find the lights flickering on and off even though you've switched them off already; the doors opening and closing on their own; the furniture suddenly not being in its place as if someone was dragging them around the house. It's definitely causing a lot of disruption so late at night, and it's not just you who can hear it. Your neighbours can hear the strange noises coming from your apartment, too. ]

Either way, it's almost amusing at how easily she flushes (even if it's only slight) at his words. It's pretty easy to make someone feel special, at least if you have a knack for hitting the mark full on.]

God, Oikawa, how the hell did you know what her few weaknesses are already. Because yes. All of those are true, and he did hit the mark, and she's embarrassed!!]

But honestly he's just that good at it, okay? Really it was more of a guess from how she was presenting herself, but this is fine.]

Are you happy there? [The question, at least, sounds lighter than he probably intends. They're all here and are all separated from their loved ones after all.]

[It's true, that's why she treats him so well. If she knew what he's like she'd toss him :) (I'm kidding).

Anyway, it's not something he's had to face in full yet, which is why he smiles widely at her after she finishes speaking. There's a lump in his throat and a rock against his stomach, but he keeps up pretenses, as though all is well.]

It'll sink in soon, but she hopes she'll be able to be there for him during the brunt of it. Besides, his attempts to keep up appearances is suspected, not that she says anything.

[Sadly he likely won't allow that, he'll try and deal with it on his own. That's precisely why this stupid conversation is taking place to begin with.]

[Wow, don't take it on all on your own, Oikawa! But it's true, she's just playing along because he's using it to cope, and it's too early to throw the awful details into his face. He already had to endure the powerpoint anyway.]

Us as aliens? [Look at this chin scratch.] Oh, yes, you are right. We are aliens to this planet! In that case, the coloured ones are more than likely to be natives.

[What a joyous powerpoint that had been.] Hmm. [He's not entirely certain of that either, given what the message had been, but there's one thing he is curious about.]

What is it like we're you're from?

[It sure makes her miss the old word arts they put in powerpoints. They were much more cheerful. As for this important question.]

Hmm, I came from Earth. Vietnam, to be exact, but I travel around as well. It was January 2015. Yourself?

From Vietnam? [He pauses, really that sounds relatively normal -- maybe they're even from the same place.] I'm from Japan.

From Japan? [She stops just to look at him--] So potentially we are from the same world. [Time still optional. Hmm, well it's something. She starts moving again. They need to catch one of these trains to get to the other districts, and it probably looks crazy high tech.]

There are many here who are from different worlds. Even different versions of Earth.

There's plenty of sci-fi material about that kind of stuff, it's not too surprising. [Except it is.] Did you believe any of it before you came here?

Yes, I never thought I would see any of it so soon though. [The future is crazy. Whoever knew?] I...not really. I wouldn't have even imagined that there are parallel universes. [The animal-eared countries incident is totally a dream, okay. Okay.] What of yourself?

Ahhh~ [He says it like a long, drawn out sigh. Almost like this is all a joke anyway, whether she had believed in it or not.] Maybe as a child I would have hoped for something like this, but not now. [He waves a hand before scratching at the back of his neck.] It's all a little too convenient, isn't it?

[She manages to laugh though--] Would you now? Discovering a new world you can play in? [She then nods as she spots the station, and takes him there.]

Life is rather easy here, should bad things not happen. So you are right, it is unusually convenient. All the more reason for us to be on guard.

Not quite. [He waves his hand for a moment, brushing that aside to explain a little more clearly.]

I'd always wanted to meet an alien. [As you do.] It's a lot different here, and it's not home... though you sound as though you're using to fighting.

[At least because that's the first thing she really mentions.]

[This wanting to meet an alien reminds her of America. WOW.] Hmm? Ah...well, you can meet an alien here. So at least that's one goal fulfilled, no matter what we find out? Any particular one you'd like to meet?

[She rubs the top of her head and then nods.] It happens more often here. Do you know how to fight?

[Just as obnoxious tbh] I never thought that much about it, there's only one kind of image people have of aliens isn't there? [You know. Green. Small. That kind of thing.

[The pause gives her time to worry, honestly.] You are a sportsman?

Hmm, those exactly~! [His voice comes out as a sing song, soundly strangely happy despite how awful the circumstances are -- he can wind down from this later and allow it all to sink in. He's hardly going to do it when someone is being helpful and when it's a nice lady after all.]

Oh! I see, then yes. They are not in great number, but I've seen some. We might see some on the way. [Sorry Oikawa, she'll be pointing out every alien like thing for him now. Like that one over there, where she's trying to double check to see if it is an alien of his description.

Also...] A captain of a volleyball team? That is very impressive. You look just like one, you're very tall and fit. [So he doesn't know how to fight normally. But that's okay, she'll protect him (gross).]

[He's not desperate to see them, Vietnam. Not with all the things he wants to pay attention to anyway. His biggest worry right now is if there are fights. He's well aware that he's physically able to learn, he just never has.]

[Then he's lucky they haven't encountered any yet! And wow, she could teach him too, if he's a sportsman, he's got the perfect body to learning how to fight on the fly.]

I do. [Yeah, baka.] Really? Well, I thought you were some kind of sportsman, from what I mentioned before. I wonder what they thought you were? An idol? [Look, there's not many things you can think a tall vain dude to be if he's not a sportsman.]

[Just good luck stopping him once he starts.
